Perfume - Samples from Alkemia

So this is my sample haul from Alkemia. I have read so much about Alkemia on other blogs, so I bought two sample packs right away, and got two free samples. So far I´m in love with a bout half of them, like a few more and dislike a couple. There is also a love/hate relationship going on with one of them. I received them a week ago and I´m just about ready to review...

Here is a list of the samples received and the notes:
  • Smoke & Mirrors - burning wood, madagascar vanilla, tonka.
  • Moon Goddess - datura, cereus, poppy, water musk, cucumber, melon.
  • Miel de Sauvage et Tabac - pipe tobacco, honey, honeycomb, forest blossoms, amber.
  • Wing of Bat - oakmoss, green patchouli, fern, dirt, ambergris, leather.
  • Incendere - carnations, spices, incense, bay rum.
  • Ardorem 21 - coriander, mandarin, amber, nutmeg, saffron, bourbon geranium, blue lotus, tobacco, musk, clove, sandalwood, vetiver, kashmiri tea, cardamom, black pepper, and japanese incense.
  • De la Forêt - amber, golden musk, orris, tonka, bergamot, rosewood, oud, sandalwood, paper, oakmoss, birch tar, vetiver.
  • Les Mysteres - frankincense, fig, labdanum, amber, russian tea, musk.
  • Attar Al Oud - oud, dark musk, sandalwood, amber.
  • Soma - cannabis, artemesia, spanish broom, opium poppy, morning glory, snake root, absinthe.
  • Arcanum - eastern spices, aged patchouli, sandalwood, frankincense, nag champa, dragons blood.
  • Falling Stars on Winter Solstice - balsam needles, dark musk, sweet myrrh, incense, melted snow, wood smoke.
I was just wondering if there are any wishes as to which one I should review first? Any one scent that is especially interesting?

  1. Maybe you could review Miel de Sauvage et Tabac, Moon Goddess, Ardorem 21 or Smoke & Mirrors. I think those might be the only samples I haven't gotten yet!

And is it just me or do you find the scents don't last very long? But I don't have much experience with natural fragrances - maybe that's one of their qualities ... :o)

    1. Sure! Reviews coming soon! Among those there is one love, one like, one dislike and one love/hate, dare to guess which is which? ;)

On me these scents tend to last at least six hours... Perfume oils usually last longer than alcohol based scents on my skin, sometimes more than 12 hours! But I think that depends on how dry your skin is. If you have dry skin it just sucks all that oil up and leaves no scent for you to enjoy.

    2. That would be my problem then ... very dry skin, especially in the winter! Good to know - thanks! :o)

    3. I have the dry skin problem too, and lately most of my perfumes are being eaten up. My problem is that all my body lotions and butters are highly scented so I tend not to wear them so they don't clash with the perfume oil. I'm currently looking for an unscented one.

    4. I´m blessed with skin that is never dry (except my fingertips, but you don´t wear perfume there do you), instead I got psoriasis here and there. ;D

    1. It is nice haul, though I have regretted not sampling a few scents... I want to sample Trick or Treat, Ex Libris Anima, Vamp, Ritual, Gaea, Vanille Vert and Offering in the future... Umm, that´s more than a few, so I guess another haul of this size is in the future... ;)

Oud, yes there are two scents in this haul with a prominent oud in them, Attar al Oud and De la Forêt. I think I´ll review those two together. :)
