Inspiring Blogger Award

I got an Inspiring Blogger Award from Aristocratic Elegance! (Which was a huge honor!!)

Five odd habits of mine:

1. I read fanfiction as if it was a full time job. Literally 40 hours a week sometimes! When I have to write a paper for school I usually spend five hours reading fanfiction for every hour I spend working. I also have NO self diciplin AT ALL when it comes to fanfiction, I just can´t resist... My current fanfiction obsessions are Game of Thrones, Sherlock Holmes, Star Trek TOS and, as always, Harry Potter.

2. I am asexual and I can seriously not understand what´s so great about romantic relationships... Give me a dog any day, if it´s the intimacy!

3. I live in a closet that is about 3 square meters. I don´t have room for a bed so I sleep an a mattress on the floor... I have lived like this for 5½ years, and I love it! I do have a window, a radiator and a couple of shelves but that is about it really...

4. I am about the laziest person on the planet... I am (almost) seriously considering a future as a relaxation coach! Stress related disorders flee before me!

5. I cannot live without Finnish salmiak, I just have to have it!! I import it to Sweden, because swedes really suck at salmiak, they call it "salty licorice" for chrissakes!!!

I´m going to tag a few blogs that I enjoy reading! Give me som odd facts people (I love oddities)!

Brightest Star Of All
The Walrus Room
Miss Prissypants
My Perfume Diaries
The Navigatrix

  1. Oh congratulations on the award! You truly deserve it, my dear! I used to write fanfiction, so that's awesome that you read it! It was a Twilight fanfic called Fading Away. Everyone was human though, and Bella had a bad past that she was running from and Edward was kind of a drunk, haha. I abandoned it on the 26th chapter though :( I guess I got stuck!

Thanks for tagging me! This sounds fun! <3

    1. No offence to you, but Twilight is sooo awful and Twilight fanfiction is just about the worst thing in the known universe!! But I´m sure you are a nice person anyway! ;) <3

    2. Lol! No offense taken! I just take it for what it's worth! And I know, the fanfics are even worse. Lol! It's ok though, I had fun writing it! :)

    3. Yeah, as long as you had fun it is worth something at least!

I do have a hard time with most fanfiction, there is just so much sex and focus on relationships... As an aromantic asexual I do like my fanfiction as free from sex as possible, but sex seems to be the only thing on most fanfiction writers minds! And those who write Twilight fanfiction are just about the worst of the lot!

      Mini rant over... Lol! <3

    4. I hear you there. While I cannot talk shit without sounding like a hypocrite (even mine contains some level of sex stuff), I cannot deny that it's all really tedious. I think a lot of it is the fact that there was like 0 raunchy sex in the Twilight stories, and there's a lot of hormone-infused teenagers and older women alike that just wanted Edward and Bella to bang (I mean, look at Fifty Shades of Grey, lol!). To each their own! Heh!

    5. "Some level of sex stuff" is quite alright with me... but when it is just sex and absolutely no plot... *pukes*

      Yeah, to each their own!

  2. I didn't know what fanfiction was. That's interesting!

"I live in a closet that is about 3 square meters" This would make an awesome first phrase for a novel. How cool!

    1. Fanfiction is my drug! This spring it will be six years since I started reading it! I won´t even try to figure out how many fanfics I have read... about 2500 maybe.

Living in a closet is quite easy. I have storage space in other parts of the apartment, so I really just sleep in my closet... And I have always liked enclosed spaces! But I have never met anyone who has lived for so long in such a small space... People are so ridiculously high maintenance these days!

  3. So nice to know a bit more about you. I am lazy too, to the extent that i stress because I have been too lazy to get small things done. Stress makes me lazier. It is a vicious cycle :D
Thank you for thinking of me :) I will try to think of my oddities :) x

  4. Amanda, you're right- it does sound like the beginning of a story. Harry Potter lived in that closet under the stairs, after all!

And Su, I hope you do the list! I'd love to learn more about you, dear!

You ladies are all so awesome!

    1. In that context it is rather cool to live in a closet... ;)

  5. Oooh, interesting list - I love it when bloggers step outside their themes and reveal a little more about themselves.

I shall have to think about my own oddities - I do have many, but they're probably only odd to me!

  6. You're officially Harry Potter! (The living in a closet thing) :3 And I wish stress problems ran from me. Jealousy! Thanks for the tag!

    1. Weelll... if my closet was under the stairs I would definitely change my name! Alas it is not, so I´ll have to keep my present identity. ;)

  7. Thanks for tagging The Navigatrix! OK, odd factoids:About ..er..22 years ago I was a huge fan of the original Beauty and the Beast series (Ron Perlman, Linda Hamilton, Roy Dotrice) and I was a member of the fan club, even wrote a bit and had it published in a fanfic mag. I went one further, meeting Mr. Dotrice, who played 'Father'. All great fun! I've just seen the pilot of the reworked version...it's missing the romance, more like NYPD or CSI with military experiment gone wrong. Anyway, I'm also a Live Roleplayer and one of my favourite characters to play was a hermaphrodite Samurai Badger. Seriously (I was the only female one in the group and since my last character got married In Character (and given away by my now-husband) I decided to avoid the IC relationship thing, for certain. Um..I can speak a bit of Japanese and visited a few years ago. I'm a Reiki Master Teacher. I have one tattoo, gained unwillingly...I ran into my mum's technical pen (draftswoman, the old fashioned way) and now I've a tiny ink spot on my index finger. Odd enough for you?
