Perfume - The collection so far

Here are most of my essential oils and a few empty bottles for experiments...
Here are my perfume oils and samples (in the film canisters) as well as a few of my own experimental blends. You will note a couple of Body Shop perfume oils in here and a solid from Lush that I had completely forgotten that I owned, these are from the days when I was a coconut and vanilla gal... I don´t really know what to do with them now...
This post is inpired both by Dee's post about orginizing her makup and perfume as well as BrightestStarOfAll's post about her perfume collection. I´m feeling quite organized when I look at this! The wooden boxes are two of the drawers in a mini dresser that I have on my "desk". If you want to know what exactly is in my collection, you can have a look at my stash at ScentBase. The only things missing both in the pictures and in my Scentbase stash are a couple of full size vintage perfumes (Madame Rochas EdC and Yves Rocher Venice EdT) and a few vintage decants...

  1. Awesome post! I love orginazation/collection posts :) I use one of those spin-things intended for medicine for my perfume stash, haha! I've never seen ScentBase before, but it was cool to see your collection on there! I think I need Boneyard in my life- it sounds absolutely amazing! I'm a sucker for Cemetary/funeral inspired scents :)

    1. ScentBase is really great for organizing you indie perfumes! There are lots of indie scents allready in the databaser there, and adding a new perfume to the database is simple.

I too need Boneyard in my life! I only ever sniffed a sample so I don´t actually own it, but I do want a full size of it!

  2. Nice collection! I like the sample vials in the film canisters, that's a great idea. I keep mine in old Altoids tins :) I just started working on my ScentBase list. I have wayyyy too many samples.

    1. I cannot take credit for the film canisters idea, I got it from somewhere in the blogosphere but I can´t remember where... It is great though, as it allows me to store my samples upright! Some tend to leak otherwise...

Found you on ScentBase and added you to my friends! Too bad that there is no way of communicating there...

    2. Oh, thanks for the invite! It will take me a while to get my list completed. It's really time consuming having to go all the way back to the main list after each entry unless there's some short cut I'm missing.
I have had some of my vials leak so I know that problem firsthand! I don't have any film canisters so I will need to find another upright solution.

    3. I´ve never really had a problem with it being time consuming to add stuff to my ScentBase... I don´t really understand how you do it though...

    4. I I just made a ScentBase profile too, it just seemed like a fun way to organize perfume :) It actually did seem kind of tedious to go back and add every scent from a certain company though :)

    5. Well, it is a shame that you can´t add several scents at once...

Added you too to my friends on ScentBase! :)

    6. Aside from having to go back to add each scent individually rather than maybe checking each one off from one page, it's also taking me awhile because so far my products list number in the 80s, lol :) And not done yet!

    7. Well, that would do it I guess... I only had about 20 items to add at the beginning, and then I have added little by little, when I have received various sample hauls. ;)

  3. Very nice, Nadja! Love how everything is so organised! I also like your wooden drawers :) Film canisters is a great idea but I don't have any. I use all my empty body butter containers. It helps that I love TBS body butters :D

    1. My mom is big on old fashioned photography so I get my film canisters from her. :) I have one TBS body butter, but I don´t think that one will ever be emptied... I do love it, I just forget to use it... ;)

  4. Yay for Scentbase! I love nosing around people's stashes on there. It is a pain to load everything on though - when I first started my account I had 200+ samples. Took me forever! Now I just update as I get them so it doesn't become too big a chore and I don't get behind.

Love how you've got your collection organised - those film canisters are a great idea. :-)

    1. I love those film canisters! They make it quite easy to find a specific sample as each canister only fits about 7-8 samples! The best thing is that I still have about five or six empty film canisters! So I can fit about 40 more samples! Yay!

    2. So much easier. My samples are just in various little bowls and dishes all over the place and not in any kind of order. Not the best way to keep them!
